Aberdeen
There’s a brown paper bag in in his back seat
that rattles all the way home from Aberdeen.
Wishes
We didn’t blink
For a whole minute.
Mosaic.
There in that moment,
I suddenly lost all taste of apprehension,
regarding all these moments
between you and I.
Cause and affection.
Afraid to fall asleep.
Because if I don’t fall then it’s up all night,
standing up to you and the mark you’ve made.
Cellophane Heart
This heart of mine has a
series of white dashes
running down the middle.
Rusting
This bridge has seen about as many years
as it has feet walk across it.
Her Day.
There’s a fading pattern of rain on her collar
That says her day’s been a long one.
Old Blue.
I wrapped you in
old blue reverie
and loosely tethered twine
New Birds.
Two rocks and a burning giant…
